FILM & MEDIA FIXER SERVICE

Reporting or filming in Bhutan can be a major source of pain. So painful only a handful of reporters and filmmakers have made it so far. Fortunately for you, we make it easy. Bhutan Spicy Shangri-La is the only tour company in Bhutan which offers professional fixer service, from permits to transport to interview appointments, to finding local actors and crew. So if you are a print or TV reporter looking to file stories from Bhutan? If you are a filmmaker looking to shoot documentaries or feature films in Bhutan— you have come to the right place.

WHY COME THROUGH A TOUR OPERATOR?

Great question. All foreign press or filmmakers wishing to cover stories from Bhutan, or do a documentary or film, are mandated by the Government of Bhutan to enter the country via a licensed local tour company paying the required minimum daily fee of USD 250 (peak season) or USD 200 (non-peak season), just like its regular tourists. More On Tariff. The daily fee covers your meals, transportation, accommodations, a driver and tour guide. Payment to your fixer is separate.

Kencho (of Bhutan Spicy Shangri-La) is a fabulous fixer and I have nothing but positive things to write about his work ethic and professionalism. Without his help, contacts and resourcefulness our coverage would not have been possible. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a fixer/producer for any story out of Bhutan and surrounding areas.
